Berlin, July 3rd 2018 – Anyone who watched the Runway Show of Austrian designer Lena Hoschek must have been drooling over the new Spring/Summer 2019 collection, as the title is both programme and message! TUTTI FRUTTI is a fashion cocktail of vibrant colours, tropical motifs and fruity prints. Imagine Carmen Miranda singing her worldwide hit song „Tutti-Frutti Hat“ walking along the coastal boardwalk with its striped facades at the Portuguese Costa Nova to describe the sensual designs of this collection.
If you had to choose one word to describe Lena Hoschek`s latest collection, „Mucho Gusto“ would nail it. All the designs are packed with joy and passion that won’t fail to amaze and make for an instant mood lift. You instantly feel happy –very happy! Lena Hoschek masters to create a passionate intermezzo of palmtree leafs and fruits combined with refined silhouettes to transport the tropical vibe straight into office wear and everyday life. The successful dressmaker seduces with a perfect mix of playful & sophisticated, and invites to dive into a world of maritime stripes & tropical fruit baskets – juicy apples, fragrant oranges and sweet papayas, just to name a few ingredients of this collection.
„Fruit markets are a magical place to me. The scents, the colours, the whole flair – it is more than just a culinary experience to me, it is total eye candy and an inspiration for all my senses.“
The patterns and fabrics are just as extravagant and colourful as the cuts of each design. One can discover airy wrap dresses with romantic frilly details as well as sharp pencil skirts with a mermaid hem. Lovely Carmen blouses are teamed with opulent maxi skirts with countless frills. Serving as an ode to the sun, this season’s colours range from precious pinks, through vibrant oranges to beaming yellows.
Just as exciting and breathtaking as the colour spectrum of the collection are the bespoke couture gowns of Couturier Thomas Kirchgrabner. A real show stopper is this collections’ Lemonade Wedding Dress, which impresses with excessive draping and silk taffeta – layers of ruffles in fresh citrus tones totally live up to its name. The very cute and playful woven bags by Nannacay and the handmade jewellery by Machete are the perfect match. The sensual tropical appearance is completed by the works of La Biosthétique stylists, who create a sunkissed teint with peachy cheeks to perfect the look.
Amongst countless fans, TV host Enie van de Meiklokjes, actress Eva-Mona Rodekirchen as well as author Paula Lambert sat down in the front row.
