Spotlight | ASHLYN LIN

By /ART/, /BLOG/, /FASHION/, /NEWS/

London-based Taiwanese visual artist and fashion photographer Ashlyn Lin began her career as a Digital Editor at InStyle Magazine and has since built an established international profile spanning fashion, art, and culture. Her works have been published in Vogue Italia, ELLE, I-D Magazine, and Sicky, and she is a two-category nominee of the prestigious reFocus Awards, affirming her standing in global photographic storytelling.

Her practice bridges both the commercial and the artistic. Ashlyn has collaborated on campaigns for Chanel, Swarovski, ELEMIS, and Lanvin, and worked as a freelance Senior Photo Editor at Spring Studios London, contributing to major projects for Rimmel London and Diet Coke. At London Fashion Week, she has photographed backstage and produced lookbooks for designers such as Mark Fast and Helen Anthony. She has also photographed internationally recognized talents, from Netflix-featured actors to award-winning stars of the Golden Horse and Golden Bell Awards. Her upcoming solo exhibition at the Duomo Art Gallery in Padua, Italy has been invited as the institution’s season-opening show, a distinction that affirms her established recognition in the international art world.

Ashlyn’s work is characterized by the fusion of vintage textures with contemporary visual codes, creating images that balance nostalgia and modernity, emotion and narrative. She retains her artistic signature while adapting seamlessly to brand aesthetics, moving effortlessly between high fashion and street culture, fine art and commercial campaigns. Her influence extends widely: her visuals have been selected as a Spotify official playlist cover, while her Instagram has reached an audience of over 1.5 million views within just two months, underscoring the global resonance of her practice and her role within London’s creative industry. @ashlynlinphotography

SPOTLIGHT EDITORIAL | SHELL & MEISTER by Gregory Shell

By /FASHION/, /NEWS/

Gregory Shell is a freelance visual storyteller, photographer, and director with 17 years of experience. He produces global video and photo advertising campaigns and began his career as a magazine photographer (Cosmopolitan, Esquire, GQ, Glamour, Allure, InStyle, ELLE, Rolling Stone). Today he focuses on commercial projects for brands such as Coca-Cola, Adidas, Gillette, Mastercard, Pirelli, and Puma.

Having recently relocated to Berlin, Gregory presents one of his first local projects—a creative editorial shot in collaboration with Sanja Meister, an emerging fashion designer (B.A.) and trained tailor since 2018. Acting as art director, Sanja organized an experimental shoot to showcase pieces from her latest collection in a fresh visual context after the recent Ustopia 2024 fashion show.

The styling was led by the brilliant Luca Marie Reinsch and Diana König—co-organizers of the Ustopia Runway & Art Show 2024—who also supplied selected garments for the project. Inspired by Office-Siren-Core aesthetics and the element of water, the team embraced wet-look styling. The shoot evolved into a collaborative experiment that brought together many talented contributors, including exceptional hair-and-make-up artist Yana Yakubenok, models from TWO Management and SEEDS Management, and post-production & AI specialist Natasha Dautova.

Wings of Desire

By /FASHION/, /NEWS/

The shooting inspiration comes from Wings of Desire, a film released in 1987, directed by Wim Wenders. The film tells the story of a group of angels wandering in post-war Berlin, quietly observing and listening to the inner secrets and emotions of people-safeguarding a city filled with both scars and hope.
In this silent watch, one angel becomes deeply curious about human life and longs to break free from his transcendent existence. He wishes to personally experience the joys and sorrows of humanity, to feel the warmth and pain of life, and ultimately chooses to immerse himself in the mortal world in search of genuine, profound emotion.
The story features demons taking on various human roles, while the people observed by the angels are, in fact, often these demons-embodying the norms of the human condition: desire, suffering, greed, and tenderness. Eventually, the characters begin to recognize one another’s true identities. After the angel kills the demon, he comes to a realization: the human world is not so different. The demons are simply playing everyday roles. In the end, redemption and downfall are separated only by a single thought.
